Introduction of Coaches: Meet the dedicated coaches of our Winter
sports teams. Coaches will also hold individual team meetings following the general session to discuss specific team protocols and expectations.
Overview of the Try-Outs: Coaches will discuss the try-out schedule and the selection process in addition to talking about the requirements to make the respective team.
Overview of the Season: We'll discuss schedules, upcoming special events, and our expectations for the season ahead.
Registration and Physicals: Health and Safety Protocols ~ Information on health measures and safety practices for our athletes, including the importance of annual registration and physicals. (Please review the "2024 Physical Pre-Part Form Page 5" and the "Walk-In Clinics.pdf" for more details.)
Parental Involvement: Learn about ways you can support the teams and enhance our athletes' experiences. We'll cover the foundation of parental roles, including the impact of your support on your child’s athletic and personal development, sportsmanship, communication protocols, and individual and team goals. We will also review the Athletics Department Handbook.
The Value of Athletics: We’ll discuss the benefits of sports involvement for your son or daughter, focusing on our goal of fostering good citizenship in our athletes.
Expectations for Coaches and the Athletic Director: We’ll outline the roles and responsibilities of coaches and the Athletic Director to ensure a successful season. Your presence and participation will help strengthen our sports community, ensuring our athletes have a robust support system.
NCAA Resources and the SAAL Program: Introduction to these programs and our goals for the future, including an explanation of academic eligibility standards for athlete participation and the resources available for academic support.
